Wiro has a background in marine and fisheries science. He has over 15 years of experience in development work at both national and international levels, including market-driven improvement projects, private sector supply chain enhancement, community development, ecolabelling, youth movements, and campaign and policy advocacy.

At the Nusantara Climate Initiative, Wiro holds the position of Head Divsion of the Sustainable Commodities. In this capacity, he oversees the strategic planning and implementation of initiatives that extend beyond carbon considerations. His primary responsibilities encompass the execution of activities pertaining to sustainable commodities and ecotourism, ensuring sustainable commodity sourcing, optimizing supply chain management, fostering partnerships, and promoting the development of a sustainable business ecosystem.

With a combination of expertise in sustainable natural resource management, along with extensive experience, networking, and his leadership, Wiro is poised to significantly advance NCI’s mission of preserving Indonesia’s natural ecosystems, promoting sustainable practices, and empowering local communities. His contributions play a vital role in ensuring that NCI’s vision for a sustainable and resilient future not only fosters community welfare but also supports the preservation of the environment.
