Muhammad Sofiyuddin is a Socioeconomic Specialist with over 15 years of experience in leading and coordinating socioeconomic research and development across forest, peatland, and mangrove ecosystems. His expertise spans participatory and rapid rural appraisal (PRA/RRA), forest and land use profitability analysis, value chain and market analysis, forestry and agriculture business model development, circular economy, community livelihoods, and green investment. Additionally, he has extensive experience in providing business development consultancy for sustainable initiatives.

Throughout his career, Yudi has successfully designed, managed, and implemented multiple funded projects across various provinces and districts in Indonesia, building strategic partnerships with government agencies, universities, NGOs, and local communities. Before joining Nusantara Climate Initiative (NCI), he contributed his expertise to leading organizations such as Inni Joa, ICRAF, and Sosial Bisnis Indonesia (SOBI), focusing on sustainable development and socioeconomic empowerment.

Currently serving as Head of the Social Capital Management Department at NCI, Yudi plays a pivotal role in developing and overseeing social and economic programs across NCI’s project areas. Leveraging his extensive background in socioeconomic research and leadership, he leads the design and implementation of strategies that support safeguarding programs, ensuring the effective application of Free, Prior, and Informed Consent (FPIC), conflict resolution, and the promotion of sustainable livelihoods. His work is instrumental in empowering local communities, improving well-being, and advancing environmental conservation, reinforcing NCI’s vision of a sustainable and resilient future.
