Mohamad Nugraha is a Geomatics and Land Use Management Specialist at the Nusantara Climate Initiative (NCI), where he applies his expertise in GIS, remote sensing, and land use planning to support sustainable environmental management. With a background in geospatial technologies, he plays a key role in advancing Nature-Based Solutions (NBS) by conducting spatial analyses, managing geospatial databases, and developing strategic land use frameworks.

A graduate of IPB University’s Faculty of Forestry, Mohamad holds a Bachelor’s degree in Forest Conservation and Ecotourism. His professional journey includes roles as a Land Use Planning Officer at GIZ and a GIS & Remote Sensing Research Assistant at ICRAF, where he worked extensively on geospatial applications for environmental sustainability and land use management.

At NCI, Mohamad is responsible for developing and maintaining geospatial databases, ensuring data integrity and accessibility for project teams. His work includes conducting comprehensive land use change analyses, modeling historical trends, and forecasting future scenarios to inform strategic decision-making. He actively contributes to land use planning and zoning initiatives, integrating spatial intelligence into the development of sustainable land management frameworks.

Beyond technical analysis, Mohamad plays a crucial role in designing spatial strategies for NBS, translating scientific knowledge into practical, actionable plans. His work involves identifying opportunities for NBS, assessing their feasibility, and creating spatial frameworks that optimize environmental and social benefits. By leveraging geospatial technologies, he supports NCI’s mission to drive effective conservation efforts, enhance landscape resilience, and foster sustainable development.
