Syarifa Nurfadilah is an Environment and Biodiversity Specialist at Nusantara Climate Initiative (NCI), where she plays a crucial role in assessing and monitoring biodiversity and ecosystem health. Her work involves conducting biodiversity surveys, developing conservation strategies, and supporting biodiversity offsetting and compensation mechanisms to ensure responsible environmental management.

Holding a Bachelor’s Degree in Forest Management from Bogor Agricultural University, Syarifa has built a strong foundation in natural forest management, environmental impact assessment, and biodiversity conservation. Before joining NCI, she gained extensive experience in the forestry and sustainability sector, working as an Environment and Biodiversity Supervisor in Papua with Wijaya Sentosa Company (Sinar Wijaya Group) and Asco Prima Nusantara. She later served as an Environment Assistant at Hutan Ketapang Industri (Sampoerna Agro) in Kalimantan and as Chief of Sustainability at Polindo Utama, where she specialized in marine waste management and plastic recycling.

Her expertise lies in the management of biodiversity and ecosystem services, particularly in High Conservation Value (HCV) forest monitoring and environmental impact assessment. She has worked extensively on mapping HCV areas, coordinating forest rehabilitation efforts, and leading forest regeneration projects aimed at restoring degraded ecosystems. Her work also includes keystone species inventory and mapping, non-timber forest product inventory, and the protection and restoration of natural watercourses and wildlife habitats. Additionally, she has been involved in cave mapping, tree growth data analysis, and leading teams focused on forest regeneration and biodiversity conservation.

With a deep commitment to sustainability and conservation, Syarifa integrates biodiversity preservation with responsible land management to create long-term environmental impact. She continues to advocate for holistic and science-based approaches to conservation, ensuring that ecosystems remain resilient and communities benefit from sustainable practices.
