Mukhammad Thoha Zulkarnain is the Department Head of Nature Capital Management at Nusantara Climate Initiative, leading the development of forest carbon offset projects. He oversees multidisciplinary teams of remote sensing and GIS experts, carbon specialists, and biodiversity specialists to drive impactful conservation efforts.

He holds a Master of Science in Information Technology for Natural Resource Management from Bogor Agricultural University and a Bachelor’s degree in Soil Science from Brawijaya University. With over 15 years of experience in forestry, agroforestry, climate change, and natural resource management, he has worked with renowned institutions such as World Agroforestry (ICRAF), Edge Global Indonesia, and IFAD Indonesia.
His key projects include RESTORE+, PEAT IMPACTS, and green growth planning across multiple provinces. He specializes in remote sensing, GIS, data science, and project management, with expertise in ArcGIS, Google Earth Engine, and programming languages such as Python and R.

Thoha’s work focuses on forest monitoring, land cover change dynamics, carbon assessment, and environmental services, including methodology and tool design, capacity strengthening, and collaboration with government agencies, NGOs, and international donors. His expertise contributes to advancing sustainable landscape management and climate resilience in Indonesia.
