Chandra Irawadi Wijaya is the Division Head of Impact and Compliance at Nusantara Climate Initiative (NCI), where he is responsible for ensuring that policies and programs align with conservation goals and compliance standards. With a strong background in forest management, conservation, restoration, and low-emission development, he brings over 18 years of experience working with leading international and national organizations in natural resource management and Nature-Based Solutions (NBS) development.

He holds a B.Sc. in Forest Resources Conservation and an M.Sc. in Information Technology for Natural Resources Management from IPB University. His expertise extends to ecosystem services, governance frameworks, and strategic environmental planning, ensuring that conservation initiatives are both scientifically sound and effectively implemented.

Throughout his career, Chandra has been instrumental in developing strategic frameworks and action plans to strengthen organizational governance and program management, covering planning, implementation, monitoring, reporting, and evaluation. His contributions were particularly impactful during his tenure as a Technical Advisor at Hutan Harapan, where he played a key role in actualizing conservation and restoration strategies on the ground.

In addition to his professional achievements, Chandra is a dedicated researcher, having published numerous research papers and communication materials on topics such as land use and land cover change modeling, payment for ecosystem services, forest and landscape restoration, and peatland risk management. His work bridges the gap between science and policy, ensuring that conservation and sustainability efforts are both data-driven and actionable.

With a deep commitment to environmental sustainability and governance, Chandra continues to drive impactful conservation policies that balance biodiversity protection, climate resilience, and community well-being.
